Matthew Perry is among the recent losses in the world of sitcom legends. Just earlier this year, in January 2022, we mourned the tragic passing of Bob Saget, who was discovered in his Florida hotel room at the age of 65.

While there is no known connection between Perry and Saget, there is an interesting link through John Stamos, who shared the screen with both of them during a guest appearance on Friends in its ninth season.

Now, a somber similarity has come to light, thanks to Bob’s widow, Kelly Rizzo. She has chosen to speak out after hearing about Matthew Perry’s passing. In a heartfelt Instagram post, she shared some troubling details about the day Saget passed away.

In early 2022, the sudden loss of Bob Saget sent shockwaves through the entertainment industry. The 65-year-old comedian and actor was on his I Don’t Do Negative Comedy Tour when he unexpectedly passed away in Grande Lakes, Florida, on January 9, 2022. His lifeless body was found in his hotel room.

Bob Saget, best known for his roles in Full House and America’s Funniest Home Videos, had performed in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, just a day before his untimely departure.

In a statement, Bob Saget’s family expressed their devastation: “We are devastated to confirm that our beloved Bob passed away today… He was everything to us, and we want you to know how much he loved his fans, performing live, and bringing people from all walks of life together with laughter. Though we ask for privacy at this time, we invite you to join us in remembering the love and laughter that Bob brought to the world.”

The Sheriff’s statement confirmed the sad news: “The man was identified as Robert Saget & pronounced deceased on scene. Detectives found no signs of foul play or drug use in this case.”

Saget’s passing left the entertainment world in disbelief. Many of his former colleagues and friends took to social media to share their heartfelt condolences.

Shortly after his passing, the cast of Full House, where Bob played the role of father Danny Tanner, came together to share a joint message on Instagram. This touching message was co-signed by Jeff Franklin, along with co-stars John Stamos, Candace Cameron Bure, Lori Loughlin, Dave Coulier, and Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen.

“Thirty-five years ago, we joined together as a TV family, but we truly became a family. And now, we mourn as one,” the statement expressed. “Bob brought us laughter that made us cry tears of joy. Today, our tears are filled with sorrow, but also with gratitude for the beautiful memories we have of our dear, kind, funny, and cherished Bob.”

Bob Saget is survived by his wife and their three children. The statement continued, “He was like a brother to us guys, a father to us girls, and a friend to all of us. Bob, we hold you close in our hearts. In Bob’s honor, we ask you to embrace those you love. No one gave hugs like Bob.”

Bob Saget was a beloved figure in Hollywood. His time on Full House propelled him to a new level of fame, and everyone attests to his warm and genuine presence on set.

John Stamos, a close friend and co-star, has openly shared his feelings about Bob since his passing. Before the funeral, Stamos acknowledged that the ceremony would be “the most difficult day of my life.”

Bob Saget is survived by his wife, Kelly Rizzo, and their three children: Aubrey, Jennifer Belle, and Lara Melanie.

Speaking on Good Morning America, Rizzo mentioned that Bob was in good health before his passing. According to his late wife, he had contracted Covid in December, but it was “not anything serious.”

At a memorial service in Los Angeles, Rizzo talked about her husband, expressing her surprise at how many people had spoken to Saget before he passed away. “There were so many people, and practically every person was like, ‘Oh, I talked to Bob last week,'” Rizzo recalled in an interview with Today. “I wondered, ‘How did he find the time to talk to everyone and tell them he loved them? All the time.’ It was truly remarkable.”

She also shared the final message he sent her, saying, “He wrote, ‘I love you endlessly.’ Then I replied, ‘I can’t wait to see you tomorrow,'” Rizzo recounted.

Matthew Perry, known for his iconic role as Chandler Bing on Friends, has passed away at the age of 54. Tragically, he was found in his Los Angeles home, reportedly in his hot tub, and it’s believed he drowned.

In the past week, colleagues, friends, and admirers have paid tribute to the late actor.

In a statement provided to People Magazine, his co-stars from the beloved sitcom, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox, Lisa Kudrow, Matt LeBlanc, and David Schwimmer, expressed their deep sorrow over Matthew’s loss.

“We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just colleagues, we are a family,” their joint statement conveyed. “There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unimaginable loss.”

“In time, we will share more, when we’re ready,” they added. “For now, our thoughts and love go out to Matty’s family, his friends, and all those who held him dear around the world.”

Even though Friends and Full House were set in entirely different parts of the United States, there are some incredibly surprising connections between these two iconic sitcoms. In fact, two actors from Full House even made appearances in the storyline of Friends.

One astonishing fact is that both Friends and Full House were actually filmed on the same sound stage, called Sound Stage 24, at the Warner Brothers Burbank Studios in Burbank, California. After the final episode of the legendary sitcom, it was renamed “The Friends Stage” as a tribute.

Interestingly, due to production scheduling, it wasn’t until the second season that Matthew Perry and the rest of the Friends cast moved into Sound Stage 24. We regret to inform some fans who may have believed the show was filmed in New York, but all the magic happened in Los Angeles.

The similarities between Friends and Full House don’t stop at the filming location. As mentioned, two cast members from Full House made appearances on Friends, albeit in different capacities and for relatively brief periods.

In 2003, John Stamos, renowned for his role as Jesse “Uncle Jesse” Katsopolis on Full House, surprised fans with a cameo on Friends. During the ninth season, Stamos portrayed Chandler Bing’s colleague, Zach, and was considered a potential sperm donor for Monica and Chandler.

Chandler and Monica extended an invitation to Zach for dinner at their apartment, creating an extraordinary moment for fans of both Full House and Friends.

John Stamos, known for his role in ‘Full House’, recalled a special moment he shared with Matthew Perry on ‘Friends’. Surprisingly, Perry and Stamos had a long-standing friendship that predates their time on ‘Friends’. After Perry’s passing, Stamos took to Instagram to pay tribute to his dear friend, reminiscing about the time he guest-starred on the show.

“Matthew and I had been friends long before ‘Friends,’ so when I guest-starred as Zach, the potential sperm donor for Chandler and Monica, I spent a lot of time with him,” Stamos recalled about his experience on ‘Friends’.

He shared an amusing anecdote about their backstage encounter: “Standing backstage, ready to make my entrance, Matt whispers, ‘The audience is going to go crazy when they see you! Get ready for some loud screams.’ I walk through the door… silence. I was so embarrassed.”

In the past, Stamos had mentioned feeling a bit awkward during his guest appearance on Friends. However, for the first time, he revealed how Matthew Perry came to his rescue during the filming of the episode. Perry, in a way, became a hero to John when he stepped in and rallied the crowd in Stamos’ favor.

“After we finished the scene and I started to slink back to my dressing room, ready to quit showbiz, Matt walked over to the studio audience,” Stamos disclosed.

He went on to share Perry’s words to the crowd: “Ladies and gentlemen, give it up for John Stamos! You guys probably didn’t recognize him at first because he’s so much better looking in person!”

Stamos concluded his tribute to Perry by saying, “I never forgot that, and the world will never forget you.”

Although Bob Saget didn’t make a guest appearance on Friends, his name was mentioned twice in the show.

In one Friends episode titled “The One With Russ,” Rachel suggests that the character Russ resembles Bob Saget. Another time, in the episode “The One In Vegas, Part 2,” during a costume party, Phoebe assumes Ross is dressed up as Bob Saget.

Naturally, the passing of both Bob Saget and Matthew Perry had a profound impact worldwide.

Following Perry’s passing, Bob Saget’s widow, Kelly Rizzo, turned to TikTok to share her thoughts and provide new details about the day Bob passed away. She mentioned that Perry’s death brought back a sense of déjà vu for her.

“When I saw the news about Matthew Perry on TMZ yesterday, it really took me back to a very specific moment when the news came out about Bob when he passed almost two years ago now,” Kelly shared in a TikTok on October 30.

“Just so you know, I found out about my husband’s passing 15 minutes before it was reported on TMZ. The media already knew even before I did.”

Additionally, Rizzo conveyed her sorrow for Perry’s family and friends who learned about his passing through online news outlets.

“It just made me think yesterday when the news broke on TMZ about Matthew Perry, that it was very possible and likely that many of his family and even close friends didn’t even know yet. And that is just really, really messed up,” Rizzo expressed.

We will always hold dear the memories of Bob Saget and Matthew Perry.

May they both find peace in eternity. Please share this article as a tribute to their lasting impact and to express gratitude for all the laughter and cherished moments they brought into our lives.
